Consisting of a heavy duty mesh guard lined with polythene to provide protection and a microclimate to help with the establishment of young trees especially on harsh exposed sites where damage from browsing animals is likely. Trees shelters promote faster growth and straighter trees with fewer side branches and help protect against strimmers or herbicide applications. The flared rim prevents stem abrasion. These unique shelters degrade in tow stages. The polythene liner has a life expectancy of 3 to 5 years until the tree is well established leaving the mesh part of the guard to continue providing ventilated protection from animals for a further 2 to 4 years.
Supplied in two sizes, 75cm(2.5ft), 120cm (4ft) nested in packs of 4 in varying diameters from 8-11cm (3.25-4.5ins) for economy of storage. Supplied complete with ratchet ties for fixing to supporting stakes (supplied separately). Suitable for seedlings and straight stemmed transplants, sold in units of 4.
