BRAMLEYS SEEDLING COOKING (CULINARY) APPLE TREE-Malus domestica BRAMLEYS SEEDLING

An Apple tree that needs virtually no introduction the Bramleys Seedling is probably the best known apple of all. First discovered in 1809 in Nottinghamshire it was raised again by commercial grower Mr Merryweather in 1865 and was awarded a First Class Certificate by the RHS in 1893. The large flat bottomed shape of the Bramleys Seedling makes it instantly recognisable as does the skin colour of greenish yellow sometimes splashed with strokes of red. The creamy white sometimes sharp tasting flesh becomes fluffy when cooked but if some juice from sweeter varieties are added to the plentiful juice of the Bramleys Seedling fruit it makes a refreshing drink higher in Vitamin C than the usual apple drink. The fruits of this Apple tree are ready to pick in early October.

POLLINATION GROUP 3: Bramleys Seedling require pollination from another Apple tree variety from groups 2,3 or 4 (more details)-link to pollination at top of fruit page.

We supply Bramleys Seedling as one year old (maiden) – link to plant size guide, bare rooted Apple trees grafted onto an MM106 rootstock. This will make a spreading tree with an ultimate height of approximately 10-12ft crops can be variable from year to year but if vigorously pruned in the years of plentiful crops this should ensure a more bountiful crop the following year.

We recommend using Bone Meal and Rootgrow to give your new Apple tree a good start, these can be found on the left hand menu.Order any mix or combination of fruit trees in same size to qualify for multibuy discounts.
