CHARLES ROSS DUEL PURPOSE (EATING & COOKING) APPLE TREE-Malus domestica CHARLES ROSS

The Charles Ross Apple tree was originally named Thomas Andrew Knight after the famous pomoligist. The Apple tree received an Award of Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society in 1899 before being renamed Charles Ross which led to the receiving of a First Class Certificate in the same year. The fruits of the Charles Ross Apple tree have a round slightly conical shape coloured orange with a red flush. The creamy white flesh is crisp sweet and lightly aromatic in flavour. To experience the best of the flavours and juiciness of this apple it is best eaten when freshly picked. Popular for using when cooking as it retains its shape. The fruit is ready to pick September - December

POLLINATION GROUP 3; Charles Ross is partially self fertile but will produce heavier crops if planted with another Apple tree from groups 2, 3 or 4 (more details)-link to pollination at top of fruit page.

We supply Charles Ross as one year old (maiden)-link to plant size guide, bare rooted Apple trees grafted on to an MM106 rootstock. This will make an upright hardy tree with an ultimate height of 10-12ft. Charles Ross is a reliable cropper which is easy to grow is scab resistant making it a good specimen for coastal, northern areas and chalky soils.

We recommend using Bone Meal and Rootgrow to give your new Apple tree a good start, these can be found on the left hand menu.Order any mix or combination of fruit trees in same size to qualify for multibuy discounts.
