Although the Discovery Apple tree is amongst the most well known and familiar of names it came about almost accidentally when a Worcester Permain-(link to Worcester Permain) seed was planted in the 1940’s by a farm worker in his garden which lead to the formation of a new Apple tree the Discovery. The skin is a green/ yellow colour with a flush of red making it attractive in appearance. The creamy white, crisp yet juicy flesh of the Discovery can be stained pink and occasionally has a hint of strawberry in the flavour. The sumptuous soft flesh makes it an excellent variety for juicing. Ready to pick August-September.

We supply Discovery as one year old (maiden)-link to plant size guide bare rooted Apple trees grafted onto an MM106 rootstock. This particular type of Apple tree will make an excellent upright growing garden variety which has good frost and disease resistant qualities. The approximate ultimate height is 10-12ft.
