The Fortune Apple tree was first developed by the Laxton Bros. in the early 1900’s it received a First Class Certificate from the RHS in 1948. This Apple tree produces a medium sized fruit with a wonderful colouring of bright red stripes over a pale green/yellow background. The Fortune apple has a creamy white slightly firm sweet flesh which can be slightly scented and very juicy the spicy flavour of the Fortune apple makes it a favourite for apple pies and apple sauce! To attain the very best flavour and colour the Fortune Apple tree is best left until late September into October before the fruit is picked.
