GALA, EATING(DESSERT) APPLE TREE- Malus domestica GALA

The Gala Apple tree originated in New Zealand in the early 1960’s and was named in 1965. The Gala is universally popular due to the delicious sweet lightly perfumed flavour of the flesh and it’s attractive thin pale yellow skin with bright red stripes and a light crimson flush. The fruit of the Gala Apple tree has a more distinct strength to it’s flavour if eaten straight after picking although it also has good storage qualities. The Gala has attractive blossom making it an asset in any garden although it prefers a warm dry climate. The fruits of this Apple tree are ready for picking from early October.
