GOLDEN DELICIOUS,EATING (DESSERT) APPLE TREE-Malus domestica GOLDEN DELICIOUS

The Golden Delicious apple is probably one of the most well known fruits to the consumer and was introduced to the UK in the early 1920’s. It is now so popular the Apple trees of this variety can be found in orchards and gardens worldwide. This apple tree produces excellent crops of Golden Delicious apples which are greenish yellow in colour changing to ‘golden yellow’ as they ripen. The flesh of the Golden Delicious is cream in colour and very sweet to taste with a crisp texture. This apple retains it’s shape making it suitable for many uses in the kitchen and the sweetness of the flavour makes the Golden Delicious a particular favourite for making pies

POLLINATION GROUP 4: Golden Delicious requires pollination from any in groups 3,4 or 5, to ensure good cropping and is also an excellent pollinator for other Apple trees(more details)-link to pollination at top of fruit page.

We supply Golden Delicious as one year old (maiden)-link to plant size guide, bare rooted Apple trees grafted onto an MM106 rootstock. This will make an attractive spreading tree with an ultimate height of approximately 10-12ft. It is scab and mildew resistant and it’s resistance to late frosts making it suitable for planting in the North. The fruits are ready to harvest from late October.

We recommend using Bone Meal and Rootgrow to give your new Apple tree a good start, these can be found on the left hand menu.Order any mix or combination of fruit trees in same size to qualify for multibuy discounts.
