SPARTAN, EATING (DESSERT) APPLE TREE-Malus domestica SPARTAN

The Spartan Apple tree is one of the first Apple trees to be consciously bred in a scientific environment in Canada during the early 1920’s using the Apple tree varieties McIntosh and Newtown Pippin. The Spartan has a stunning bright scarlet skin colour which spreads all over the longer it is left on the tree. The fruits of the Spartan Apple are small and sweet making them a great favourite with children although crisp when eaten straight from the tree they are very juicy making them a good variety for juicing with a lovely flavour. If you only have room for one Apple tree in the garden this one comes highly recommended.

We supply Spartan as one year old (maiden)-link to plant size guide bare rooted Apple trees grafted onto an MM106 rootstock. This easy to grow tree is resistant to both scab and mildew it crops late from October – January and will attain a height 10-12ft.
