WINTER GEM, EATING (DESSERT) APPLE TREE-Malus domestica WINTER GEM

The Winter Gem Apple Tree is a reasonably new variety developed in Kent in the 1960’s and is a cross between the lesser known Grimes Golden and the very popular Cox’s Orange Pippin giving the best characteristics of both. The skin of the Winter Gem is a reddish russet flushed colour, and the flesh has a rich sweet aromatic taste. The Winter Gem is a versatile and useful garden Apple tree as it can be easily trained to cover unsightly walls and fences. The very heavy crops are produced and ready for picking between October and March.

We supply Winter Gem as one year old (maiden)-link to plant size guide, bare rooted Apple trees grafted onto an MM106 rootstock. This will make an upright spreading tree that is easy to grow and has a strong resistance to diseases and will make an ultimate height of 10-12ft.
