VICTORIA PLUM TREE DESSERT (CULINARY) PLUM TREE-Prunus domestica VICTORIA PLUM

Probably the most well known of all the Plum trees the Victoria Plum produces vast amounts of sweet, juicy plums which are suitable for eating straight from the tree. The seedling of the Victoria Plum was originally found in Sussex and was sold to a nurseryman in London who introduced it to the public around 1840. The RHS awarded the Victoria Plum a First Class Certificate in 1973 and it is now the most widely grown commercial Plum in the UK. The fruits of the Victoria Plum tree are bright red in colour with a yellowish sweet juicy flesh suitable for eating fresh or using in pies, jams and desserts. In the early stages of growth if every other plum is removed from the tree this will ensure the remainder of the Victoria Plum fruits are larger. The fruits are ready for harvesting in late August.

POLLINATION: The Victoria Plum tree is self fertile but as with most self fertile fruits will produce heavier more sustainable crops if planted with other varieties.

We supply Victoria Plum Tree as one year old (maiden)-link to plant size guide bare rooted Plum trees grafted onto St Julian A rootstock. This will make a compact Plum tree with an ultimate height of approximately 10-12ft. Prefers being planted in rich soil in a warm spot.

We recommend using Bone Meal and Rootgrow to give your new Plum tree a good start, these can be found on the left hand menu.Order any mix or combination of fruit trees in same size to qualify for multibuy discounts.
