The Common Walnut is a remarkable and versatile tree grown for the fruit it bears the timber it produces and for its medicinal properties. The Walnut tree is an ancient species of tree originating in Asia its adaptability means it can be found growing in almost any climate. The Common Walnut tree has generous sized bronzy new leaves that turn bright green when mature. The green catkins or flowers as they are sometimes referred to are accompanied by the green fruits which house the Walnuts these ripen usually late autumn around October. The timber produced from the Common Walnut tree is rich lustrous and dark in colour associated often with the interiors of luxury cars as well as up market furniture and fittings.

POLLINATION: The Common Walnut is self fertile so does not require a pollinator.
