Large deciduous tree with a truly unique branching habit taking on a pyramid shape in early maturity followed by conical shape in older age. Superb autumnal colour when the sharply lobed glossy deep green leaves turn russet, bronze and red.
Large fast growing broadly conical deciduous tree with pendent lower branches and smooth grey bark. Shiny deep lobed dark green leaves which have large tufts of hairs underneath and turn scarlet to red – brown in autumn. Acorns are nearly spherical as opposed to oval in shape. Can grow to 70ft.
