An asset to any garden this considerable tree has an abundance of white blossom in April against a background of glossy green leaves followed by succulent sweet pears which are harvested before they fully ripen. The wood of the common pear is used widely in the making of musical instruments.
This is a medium sized tree with rounded glossy green leaves which can give colourful autumn tints. The branches can be smothered in white blossom in April followed by succulent tasting pears. As a mature tree it can reach 50ft.
