Popular deciduous shrubs best grown in a well drained soil with plenty of organic matter added, especially on chalk. A useful group of plants as the large showy flower heads are produced from July onwards when many other plants are passed their best. Remove old flower heads in spring. Vigorous woody self clinging deciduous climber with rounded oval leaves that turn yellow in autumn. Large domed heads of white flowers in June. Slow growing and easily maintained but can attain 50ft. All make wonderful additions to any garden.
