Medium sized deciduous tree with a broad columnar habit, fast growing when young. The stout shoots carry large hairy bright leaves up to 12 inches long. In late sping pink-lilac foxglove shaped flowers are produced in upright panicles. A beautiful plant that can be grown for its remarkable leaves up to 2ft or more across when stimulated by hard pruning in spring. Requires sheltered site and full sun.
