A handsome, large wide speading deciduous tree related to the Walnut family. Wing Nut trees are fast growing with large, pinnate deep green leaves up to 2ft long and remarkable deeply furrowed bark. Flowers are produced during summer in long pendant catkins followed by winged fruits. An unnusual tree that is easy to grow in any good fertile soil, like Weeping Willows ( Page 23) they look especially fine next to water.
