Aspen (Populus Tremula) are medium sized, fast growing native trees with conspicuously toothed greyish green leaves which quiver in the slightest breeze. Long grey catkins are produced in late winter with the leaves having turned a buttery yellow colour in autumn. Most matches are made from the timber of this tree which will thrive in most reasonable soils but especially in moist conditions.
Aspen is a member of the Poplar family, the toothed leaves quiver and rustle in the slightest summer breeze and turn to rich hues of buttery yellow in Autumn.
