Evergreen Ceanothus Selection Pack Of Five Bargain Packs
Evergreen Ceanothus or Californian Lilacs are a great choice for growing in sunny borders and against sunny walls, their striking profusion of tiny flowers will never fail to delight and their evergreen form will give structure to your garden all year.
Our pack of five plants will be supplied as bushy young shrubs in 2 litre pots, exactly the same as our usual stocks but with a very healthy 25% discount applied compared to buying the same 5 plants individually. Each collection will contain one each of the following five excellent varieties (all plants will be labelled), selected to give a wide season of interest:
Ceanothus Autumnal Blue: a handsome shrub with small rounded glossy green leaves, from August until October powder puff clusters of sky blue flowers erupt from the branches bringing a welcome injection of colour later in the season.
Ceanothus Concha: the arching branches are clothed in bright blue flowers that emerge from reddish purple buds during April and May giving a dazzling display.
Ceanothus Snow Flurry: A beautiful and unusual Californian lilac with deep green glossy evergreen foliage making a great foil for the rounded clusters of pure white flowers that appear during the summer months.
Ceanothus Skylark: masses of thimble shaped bright blue flowers during May and June held above the small glossy bright green foliage, like other spring flowering Ceanothus this plant makes a useful foil for the bright flowers and foliage of other later season plants when it has finished flowering.
Ceanothus thyrsiflorus Repens: Large numbers of powder blue flowers over glossy green evergreen foliage make this Californian Lilac a good low maintenance choice for ground cover in sunny areas.

How to grow Ceanothus
Position: Best in full sun.
Foliage: Evergreen, leaves stay on all year.
Soil and site: Well drained soil, needs a sheltered spot away from strong winds.
Flowering time: April -June or August-October depending on the variety chosen.
Growth rate: moderate/fast
Ultimate height and spread: 150-300cm
Hardiness: Moderately hardy
Aftercare: Water regularly after planting and through the first season until established. Trim after flowering to tidy up and remove dead wood. (Autumn flowering types are better trimmed in Spring)
