Bargain Bare Roots are the cheapest way to buy top quality mixed garden hedging. These packs have a good discount compared to purchasing them as individual species on our website, but you still get the same great plants that you would expect from Hopes Grove Nurseries.

We sell bargain bare roots in three height sizes – 40/60cm (small), 60/90cm (medium) and 90/120cm (tall).
All height sizes are available in packs of 50, 250, 500 and 1000.

Each pack contains 50% Hawthorn (Quickthorn, Crataegus monogyna, that will ensure the hedge knits together effectively) and 50% in a mix of species that will include some of the following in any combination – Blackthorn, Bird Cherry, Common Alder, Wild Crabapple, Common Dogwood, Hazel, Hornbeam, Field Maple, Dog Rose, Spindle, Wild Privet, Guelder Rose, Rugosa Roses and Wayfaring Tree, we may include other species of hedging if they are available on the day of despatch.
You can’t choose what is or isn’t included in the mixed part of the pack, the only guarantee we give is that you will receive 5 or more different types of plant in this half (they may be in varying proportions), and while it’s possible that larger packs might contain a wider variety of plants, we cannot guarantee it.

Our packs are ideal for general hedge planting and will grow into an effective barrier within a few seasons. They will also provide a great habitat for all kinds of wildlife including birds. We would recommend planting at a density of 3-7 per metre depending on your budget and how patient you are for them to grow.
