Winter Jasmine (Jasminum nudiflorum)
These are undemanding deciduous plants suited to all soil types provided they have free drainage. Grow them in sun or partial shade. Pruning is not routinely necessary although pruning the branches back to a strong pair of buds after flowering will keep the canopy of flowering branches strong and healthy. Congested Winter Jasmine plants can be reduced by removing between a quarter and a third of the oldest stems back close to ground level in Spring. A mulch and feed in spring will help ensure strong growth during the season which in turn will increase the number of flowers the following year.
