Grown for its magnificent five lobed bright green foliage that turns to showstopping hues of brilliant red in Autumn, sometimes accompanied by deep purple berries. A very popular, fast growing climber for scrambling over walls, fences and pergolas but not suited to small gardens where it may become somewhat overpowering, in smaller spaces the excellent Parthenocissus henryana would be a better choice.

Parthenocissus quinquefolia will grow well in any fertile soil in sun or shade, it is an easy deciduous climber to establish and fast growing. The biggest responsibility of planting the Virginia Creeper is undertaking to maintain it unless you have a lot of space, you will however be rewarded with one of the best vibrant red displays of autumn colour from this magnificent plant.
