Brunnera Macrophylla Ground Cover
Brunnera macrophylla (Siberian bugloss)
A wonderful shade lover that is just perfect for brightening moist, shadier parts of the garden, especially under larger plants, trees and shrubs. Bright green heart shaped, ground covering foliage emerges early in the season followed by the signature, intense bright blue Forget-Me-Not like flowers in April and May. Pair them with early season bulbs and Hellebores for a wonderful Spring show, or with later flowering perennials such as Geraniums and Lamiums for a long season display to brighten those more difficult shady areas. 60cm x 60cm.

Brunnera macrophylla prefers partial shade, planted in a well drained but humus rich soil that retains a little moisture although well established clumps will often tolerate drier conditions.
Little maintenance is required, cutting the old foliage down in Autumn and applying a good mulch will give the best display the following Spring. Well established clumps should be divided every few years to avoid them becoming congested.
