Choisya Aztec Gold Hedging
Choisya Aztec Gold (Choisya X dewitteana Aztec Gold) Mexican Orange Blossom
An exciting new golden version of Choisya Aztec Pearl. Aztec gold has finely divided, highly decorative golden foliage turning more greenish during the Winter months, the foliage has a hint of citrus scent. In April and May clusters of creamy white almond scented flowers appear, often with a second flush in August and September, especially if the shrub is deadheaded in early Summer.
Choisya Aztec Gold makes a great addition to the shrub border or in large pots, with a bushy habit of growth this plant would be ideal for a small and very colourful and informal evergreen hedge or screen up to 120cm high. (By using 3 plants per metre when planting).
Choisya Aztec Gold is an easy plant to grow, they do best in full sun or partial shade and prefer a moist but well drained soil which can be achieved with good soil preparation and generous amounts of well rotted organic matter well incorporated. This is a low maintenance shrub needing little more than a moderate trim and deadheading session after the first flush of flowers, this will keep the shrub looking bushy and healthy while also encouraging a second flush of flowers later in the season.
