Our expert says...
There is no other Photinia quite like this one! Its large and handsome evergreen leaves are wavy and have an unusual serrated edge, a great talking point for your garden that looks neat and immaculate all year round.

Photinia serratifolia Crunchy
An outstanding new Photinia with large finely toothed and undulating, coppery purple, shiny, evergreen foliage. The new foliage throughout the season is brighter in tone and the older foliage slowly takes on shades of green. Leaves are on bright coppery young shoots, which slowly fade through chocolate to green. Delicate panicles of white flowers appear in late spring on older untrimmed plants, contrasting well against the foliage.
Great as a specimen shrub nearer the back of a shrub border where it would make a magnificent backdrop or in a large container, this superb evergreen also makes a great decorative evergreen hedge that will make your neighbours envious! Suitable for hedges of 120-200cm, grows 20-40cm per year.
Photinia Crunchy is suitable for all soil types, they ask for little more than good drainage and a spot in sun or partial shade (although the leaf colouratiuon is always better in full sun). Give them a trim in late spring after the first flush of growth has darkened to green, this will encourage further colourful flushes of foliage later in the season to keep the display going.
When planting we always recommend adding Rootgrow to the planting holes, this mycorrhizal fungus give the roots a head start and the plants will be healthier, more resilient to inclement growing conditions and will develop more quickly.
