With its green stems as well as leaves ths makes an unusual addtion to country hedgerows. Its speedy growth is useful where quick cover is required and although the flowers are fairly insignificant they are followed by a colourful show of bright red berries in autumn alongside the red autumn leaves.

Large native deciduous shrub or small tree, fast growing with green stems and leaves. The tiny flowers are followed by very colourful red fruits and red autumn foliage. Frequently seen in country hedgerows particularly on chalk.
