Our thornless native hedgerow mix is made up from the following species:

Common Dogwood – Cornus Sanguinea, Snowy Mespilus – Amelanchier lamarckii, Green Beech – Fagus sylvatica, Bird Cherry – Prunus padus, Spindle – Euonymus Europaeus, Wild Crabapple – Malus Sylvestris, Guelder Rose – Viburnum Opulus, Common alder – Alnus Glutinosa
When planting our thornless native hedgerow mix, we recommend using 3 plants per metre for a single row hedge, setting each plant 13inches/33cm apart).
For a perfect thicker double row hedge, use 5 plants per metre, setting the plants 40cm apart in each row with 40cm between the 2 rows.
For an extra thick and dense hedge that may be achieved more quickly, use 7 plants per metre in a double row, planting them 11inches/28cm apart in each row with 40cm between the 2 rows.
We only supply the very best quality, Thornless Mix native hedge plants in bare root form, when they are available from November until April which is also the only time these can be planted. All our hedgerow mixes are sold in multiples of 10 plants and our minimum order is 20 plants.
