Stipa Tenuissima Pony Tails Grasses

Stipa tenuissima Pony Tails (Pony Tail Grass, Angel Hair)

This delightfully graceful grass forms narrow upright clumps of pale yellow-green leaves supporting delicate fluffy flowerheads, silver green at first and then maturing to a buff colour. These delicate flowers sway and float in the slightest breeze and just look magnificent mixed through a herbaceous border or prarie style flowerbed. This is a ‘must have’ for many garden designers and they feature regularly in Chelsea show gardens, also good for a large container.

Any well drained soil in full sun.
