Geranium ‘Beth Chatto’ is particularly well suited to cottage gardens, woodland-style planting and mixed herbaceous borders. Its graceful habit allows it to weave naturally through neighbouring perennials, pairing beautifully with Astrantias,
Ferns, Digitalis and other shade-tolerant plants. The softly coloured flowers help create a relaxed, informal look and provide a welcome splash of colour in partially shaded areas of the garden.
Easy to grow and dependable, Geranium maculatum ‘Beth Chatto’ thrives in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. It is particularly effective in areas that remain reliably moist throughout the growing season. Once established, it requires very little maintenance and will gradually form attractive clumps that return year after year with increasing impact.

As a rough guide when planting Geranium maculatum ‘Beth Chatto’ in borders, allow 5-7 plants per square metre for good coverage, or plant in smaller groups to create naturalistic drifts of soft colour throughout the garden.

Hardiness: Fully hardy
Remove spent flowers and old stems after flowering to maintain a tidy appearance and encourage fresh foliage growth. Water during prolonged dry spells, particularly in the first year after planting. Divide established clumps every 3-5 years in spring or autumn to maintain vigour and encourage healthy growth. Apply a mulch of compost or well-rotted organic matter in spring to help retain moisture and support abundant flowering.

Delivery is fast – because we pick orders daily from our own growing beds your plants only travel the small hop to our packing shed before being sent to you, they are usually delivered within 5-7 working days.
Delivery is reliable – we have been selling and delivering Hedging Plants to our customers nationwide since 1992. We have a lot of experience in packing them safely and only use tried and tested delivery partners.

Exceptions to our delivery charges are Scottish Highland and Isle of Wight delivery areas where we need to charge a little extra to cover the cost of deliveries to these outlying areas. We don’t currently delivery to other offshore addresses including Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland.
Tall plants over 2.5 metres have to be delivered by our own specialised transport, our delivery area is limited to mainland England and Wales only.
