Persicaria ‘Superba’ is ideal for the front of borders, gravel gardens, banks and slopes, where its spreading habit helps suppress weeds and provide excellent ground cover. It also performs beautifully alongside Ornamental Grasses, Hardy Geraniums, Salvias and other late-flowering perennials, helping to extend colour well into the autumn months. The foliage often develops attractive bronze and reddish tints as temperatures cool, adding further seasonal interest.
Easy to grow and adaptable, Persicaria affinis ‘Superba’ thrives in full sun or partial shade and performs well in most fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soils. Once established, it is remarkably resilient and requires very little maintenance, making it an excellent choice for both traditional and contemporary planting schemes. How to grow Persicaria affinis ‘Superba’
Position: Full Sun to Partial Shade
Foliage: Semi-evergreen
Soil and site: Fertile, moist but well-drained soil

Ultimate height and spread: Height to 25cm, spread to approximately 60cm
Hardiness: Fully hardy once established
Remove old flower spikes and any tired foliage in late winter or early spring to encourage fresh growth. Water during prolonged dry periods, particularly during the first year after planting. Divide established clumps every 3-5 years if required to maintain vigour or increase stock. Apply a mulch of garden compost or well-rotted organic matter in spring to help retain moisture and support healthy flowering.

Delivery is fast – because we pick orders daily from our own growing beds your plants only travel the small hop to our packing shed before being sent to you, they are usually delivered within 5-7 working days.
Delivery is reliable – we have been selling and delivering Hedging Plants to our customers nationwide since 1992. We have a lot of experience in packing them safely and only use tried and tested delivery partners.

Exceptions to our delivery charges are Scottish Highland and Isle of Wight delivery areas where we need to charge a little extra to cover the cost of deliveries to these outlying areas. We don’t currently delivery to other offshore addresses including Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland.
Tall plants over 2.5 metres have to be delivered by our own specialised transport, our delivery area is limited to mainland England and Wales only.
