Ceanothus Skylark produces masses of thimble shaped bright blue flowers during May and June held above the small glossy bright green foliage, like other spring flowering Ceanothus this plant makes a useful foil for the bright flowers and foliage of other later season plants when it has finished flowering.

Ceanothus Skylark appreciate full sun and well drained soil in a sheltered spot, away from cold and drying winds.

Ceanothus is a good plant for an unusual flowering hedge if you have a sheltered garden, plant 2-3 plants per metre in good well drained soil and the young shrubs will develop quite quickly to create a beautiful feature within a few seasons. This variety may be maintained as a hedge of 100-150cm needing little attention other than a trim after flowering.

How to grow Ceanothus Skylark

Position: Best in full sun.

Foliage: Evergreen shrub, leaves stay on all year.

Soil and site: Any soil that does not waterlog in winter, sheltered spot or sunny wall

Flowering time: May and June

Growth rate: moderate/fast

Ultimate height and spread: 150cm x 150cm if untrimmed.

Hardiness: Moderately hardy, may need winter protection in cold areas.

Aftercare: Water regularly after planting and through the first season until established. Remove dead branches and tidy up as required after flowering.

Exceptions to our delivery charges are Scottish Highland and Isle of Wight delivery areas where we need to charge a little extra to cover the cost of deliveries to these outlying areas. We don’t currently delivery to other offshore addresses including Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland.

Tall plants over 2.5 metres have to be delivered by our own specialised transport, our delivery area is limited to mainland England and Wales only.

Please note there is a minimum order value of £50 for orders containing smaller plants and £250 for orders containing heavier plants
