Weigela florida Variegata

Weigela florida Variegata
Weigela Variegata shrubs deliver masses of funnel-shaped, pale pink flowers on graceful arching stems in May and June that complement the ovate, white-edged, grey-green leaves. Incredibly highly attractive to all pollinators, these are smashing plants that brighten up any garden.
Naturally mound forming, with gently arching flower stems, Weigela Variegata looks wonderful grown in front of a sunny fence or wall. With their old-fashioned charm, and vivid colouring, these super shrubs are very versatile and provide a long season of interest. Try planting with Hydrangeas and Peonies or Hellebores. Very easy to grow, they will quickly develop into a handsome specimen.

Weigela florida Variegata

Although this deciduous, variegated shrub prefers fertile, well-drained soil it will thrive almost anywhere. Low maintenance, Weigela Variegata are pretty drought resistant once established but are happiest with a regular supply of water during dry summers, though try to avoid the soil becoming waterlogged. For best results plant them in full sun (they will tolerate semi-shade but may produce less flowers). Deadhead after flowering to encourage repeat blooms and prune in mid-late Summer, (as Weigela blooms on last years’ growth it is recommended to wait until after flowering), It will respond well to hard pruning to strengthen the new shoots.
