Carex ‘Ice Dance’ is particularly valuable for illuminating darker corners of the garden where many flowering plants struggle. Its elegant variegated foliage contrasts beautifully with hostas, ferns, heucheras and other shade-loving plants, while its gently arching habit softens pathways, border edges and planting schemes. It also works exceptionally well as a low-maintenance ground cover, helping to suppress weeds and create a lush, natural look.
Easy to grow and highly adaptable, Carex morrowii ‘Ice Dance’ thrives in moist, fertile, well-drained soil and is equally happy in partial shade or full shade. Once established, it requires very little attention beyond removing any damaged foliage in spring to keep plants looking fresh. Clumps can be divided every few years to rejuvenate growth and increase stock for other areas of the garden.

Remove any tired or damaged foliage in late winter or early spring to maintain a neat appearance. Water during prolonged dry periods, particularly in the first year after planting. Divide congested clumps every 3-5 years to maintain vigour and encourage healthy growth. Apply a mulch of organic matter in spring to help retain moisture and support strong foliage development.

Delivery is fast – because we pick orders daily from our own growing beds your plants only travel the small hop to our packing shed before being sent to you, they are usually delivered within 5-7 working days.

Exceptions to our delivery charges are Scottish Highland and Isle of Wight delivery areas where we need to charge a little extra to cover the cost of deliveries to these outlying areas. We don’t currently delivery to other offshore addresses including Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland.
Tall plants over 2.5 metres have to be delivered by our own specialised transport, our delivery area is limited to mainland England and Wales only.
