An eye-catching variation from the more usual green leaved Lily Turf. Silvery Sunproof has deep green strap like leaves with a broad creamy yellow margin giving extra interest when these handsome plants aren’t in flower. From August onwards short purple flushed flower spikes emerge supporting masses of tiny bright purple flowers, the display continues until well into late Autumn.
Liriope Muscari Silvery Sunproof is really useful to bring colour to the front of beds and borders when many other plants are past their best, they love shade so are ideal for underplanting around larger plants and they can look particularly effective in formal garden designs such as courtyards as they always seem to look good. Larger groups make very striking and ornamental ground cover either on their own or with other colours, perfect for cheering darker and more difficult corners of the garden. They are also well suited to containers.
Easy to grow in partial or full shade, they prefer a well drained soil. These elegant little plants can also be grown in full sun although we would advise a mulch in the Spring to conserve moisture in the absence of any shade.
