Anemone Hadspen Abundance Ground Cover
Anemone hupehensis Hadspen Abundance (Japanese Windflower)
As the name suggests, this is a very prolific flowering Anemone, masses of deep pink cup shaped flowers emerge in succession late in the season when many other plants are past their best. Handsome semi-evergreen foliage is attracivein its own right, deeply cut and textured.
The Japanese Anemones are great for gently increasing, non invasive ground cover among other perennials and larger shrubs, they do equally well in full sun or partial shade.
As a rough guide planting Anemone Hadspen Abundance as ground cover – 4 plants per square metre is adequate with a little patience, 6 will give better coverage and 9-12 will make a weed supressing carpet very quickly.
