The wonderful perennial Salvia Schneeugelground cover is a striking compact variety that delivers masses of flower stems topped with spikes of pure white flowers above aromatic grey-green foliage, lasting from July to September. Spectacular planted in groups in beds and borders or in larger pots for your patio, these nectar rich flowers will also delight your bees.
Salvia Schneeugel offer a great ground cover option as they will quickly fill out to create a weed suppressing mat. Their long flowering period means the striking spires of blooms bring freshness to a range of planting schemes often before other perennials are in bud. From cottage style gardens through to more architectural displays, these hardy plants liven up any garden. Deadhead them regularly to encourage more blooms and enjoy washes of colour in the garden for months on end. Try planting with Sambucus Black Lace or Phormium Chocomint for a striking contrast of dark plants against the bright white flowers .

Salvia Schneeugel ground cover are easy to care for and require very little maintenance. They will thrive in fertile, well drained, soil in full sun though will tolerate partial shade. Give them a good soaking of water when planting and getting established, and then you should only need to supplement rainwater during dry spells. If clumps of Salvia become congested, we recommend dividing them every 3-4 years.
As a rough guide when planting Salvia Schneeugel as ground cover – 4 plants per square metre is adequate with a little patience, 6 will give better coverage, and 9-12 will make a weed supressing carpet very quickly.
