Lonicera nitida Silver Beauty (Shrubby Honeysuckle)
These small evergreens are named Shrubby Honeysuckle because they are related to climbing Honeysuckle with similar albeit much smaller flowers – but these are bushy evergreen shrubs and very different in appearance. Lonicera Silver Beauty is an attractive form of Lonicera nitida with tiny deep green leaves that have a bright silvery edging. The arching branches of older plants carry tiny crem coloured flowers in Spring followed by shiny purple berries later in the season. They respond very well to clipping making this an interesting plant to use for a smaller hedge or path edging, they also make for excellent low maintenance ground cover.The colourful silver and green foliage would add some evergreen colour to flower beds or containers and they clip beautifully to make an interesting topiary specimen.
