These bushy shrubs are perfect for shady borders or containers and their dense bushy growth makes them a good plant for hedging or as an edging to paths and paved areas, in particular as a Box replacement. They are easily maintained at a height up to 75cm with a light trim after flowering to keep them dense and bushy.
We always recomend you plant at least one Sweet Box plant close to the house where the perfumed flowers can be appreciated.
Sarcococca confusa is an easy, low maintenance shrub. They really do thrive in shade rather than the sun, either moderate or dense shade is fine. Once established they are very tough and drought tolerant although they do appreciate a generous mulch in spring. This is also one of the few shrubs that grows well in damp shade.
How to grow Sarcococca confusa
Position: Partial, moderate or dense shade.
Foliage: Evergreen shrub, leaves stay on the shrub all year.
Soil and site: Any well drained soil, dry shade, damp shade.

Ultimate height and spread 200cm high x 100cm wide.

Aftercare: Water regularly after planting and for the first season. Trim or prune if required after flowering, mulch in Spring

Delivery is fast – because we pick orders daily from our own growing beds your plants only travel the small hop to our packing shed before being sent to you, they are usually delivered within 5-7 working days.

Exceptions to our delivery charges are Scottish Highland and Isle of Wight delivery areas where we need to charge a little extra to cover the cost of deliveries to these outlying areas. We don’t currently delivery to other offshore addresses including Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland.
Tall plants over 2.5 metres have to be delivered by our own specialised transport, our delivery area is limited to mainland England and Wales only.
Please note there is a minimum order value of £50 for orders containing smaller plants and £250 for orders containing heavier plants
