Amelanchier Lamarkii Hedging Plants

Amelanchier Lamarkii, also known as Snowy Mespilus and Juneberry, is a beautiful large deciduous shrub or small tree with a bushy spreading habit, native to balmy areas of the Northern Hemisphere. They are easy to grow in any reasonable soil, both in sun or in partial shade. The oval leaves are coppery-red in colour and silky when they emerge in spring, providing a gorgeous contrast to the masses of star shaped white flowers that bloom during March and April.

When the Amelanchier Lamarkii plants are in full flower, whether grown as a shrub, hedge or small tree, it is a beautiful spectacle - suitable for even the smallest of gardens. The edible fruits, tasting similar to a blueberry, are bright red in summer, turning purple-black in autumn and are very popular with birds. During the height of the season the foliage is mid green, before colouring to rich autumn hues of yellow, orange and red later in the year.

All of the Amelanchier hedging plants on this page are suitable for growing as trees, shrubs or for hedging. If you desire hedging then we recommend that you plant them 3-5 plants per metre, and ensure that hedges are trimmed after flowering.

All plants are covered by our quality guarantee, giving you peace of mind when you purchase. As well as this, we will supply full cultural instructions with your order to make it as easy as possible for you to get the results you desire. We strongly recommend Rootgrow and Bonemeal to help establish newly planted trees; these may found on the left hand menu.
