The plant Lonicera is the latin name for what we know more commonly as Honeysuckle.
We stock a variety of Lonicera, including: Lonicera Pileata, Lonicera Nitida Baggesens Gold, and Lonicera Nitida.
They make for wonderful and fragrant hedges, because they are tidy, formal, and of a medium size. These evergreen shrubs can be fast growing, and are available in many different sizes and shapes, so there is one to suit every need and requirement.
They come in very different styles, varieties and colours. The Lonicera Pileata for example has glossy evergreen leaves with white flowers blossoming in spring, followed by violet berries. Whereas the Lonicera Nitida Baggesens Gold has tiny gold leaves and is suitable for hedges of one to three feet.
Depending on the type of Lonicera you choose, will depend on how to plant it and look after it. For more specific requirements click through onto the type of hedge you require, but generally we recommend planting them twelve to eighteen inches apart.
