Anthemis (Dyers Chamomile)
Tough and easy sun loving plants grown for their prolific daisy like flowers that appear in succession from early Summer. they have deep green filigree foliage that is aromatic when gently crushed. these easy going daisies are perfect fro the front of a sunny border, herb garden or rockery where they will attract many beneficial insects – especially bees and butterflies.
Any well drained soil is ideal, the poorer the better as this discourages soft leggy growth and keeps the mounds of deep green foliage more compact.
As a rough guide planting Anthemis as ground cover – 4 plants per square metre is adequate with a little patience, 6 will give better coverage and 9-12 will make a weed supressing carpet very quickly.
