Artemesia Powis Castle (Wormwood)
This beautiful semi evergreen shrub is grown for its highly ornamental aromatic ferny leaves, striking silver in colour. Although yellow flowers are produced in August they are insignificant, the silvery foliage is the best feature. Artemesia Powis Castle is a fast developing plant covering bare soil quickly in a well drained sunny spot, the foliage goes with just about any colour and lends itself especially well to white themed gardens and soft mixes of pinks, mauves lilacs and whites.
As a rough guide planting Artemesia Powis Castle as ground cover – 2-3 plants per square metre is adequate with a little patience, 3-5 will give better coverage and 6-8 will make a weed supressing carpet very quickly.
