This Michaelmas Daisy the Aster Marjorie is a vastly underused variety. The bushy low growing plant produces masses of beautiful pale pink flowers with sunshine yellow centres. The blooms appear in late summer right through until autumn, particularly if consistent deadheading is done as this will ensure these stunning flowers keep appearing.
Growing to a height of 20-30cm the attractive pink flowers are set off nicely by the soft green foliage which attracts both butterflies and bees. Planting in full sun these hardy perennials will give a wonderful display of colour to the front of borders or in tubs and containers dotted around the garden.
Aster Marjorie is very easy to grow the candy pink flowers are set off well when planted alongside other Asters in darker colours. These spreading plants will die back over winter springing back to life in spring when they can be lifted, divided and planted out again giving an even greater splash of colour year after year. Asters can be used as cut flowers as their dramatic and vibrant colours make an impact in bouquets or vases making them a popular choice for flower arranging.
