Calamintha nepeta prefers well drained soil in full sun or just a touch of shade, the plants will grow into small clumps smothering the soil during the summer months before dying back down for the winter. Little maintenance is required other than removing the old foliage by cutting almost to ground level, a job best done in Spring so that the old dead foliage protects the crown of the plant during the coldest weather.
