Low maintenance, Erigeron Sea Breeze ground cover are pretty drought resistant but are happiest with a regular supply of water during dry summers.  For best results plant them in full sun in fertile well-drained soil (they will tolerate semi-shade but may produce less flowers). They will die back down to ground level in winter when you can trim off any straggly dead foliage ready for the following Spring.  They are also tolerant of coastal conditions.
