Thornless Mixed Native Hedging

Thornless native hedgerow mix – This is a very popular native hedgerow mix that is perfectly suited to any situation where thorns are undesirable, such as next to public rights of way or in gardens with small children playing for example.

We have carefully selected a wide selection of suitable native species to give year-round interest with catkins, flowers, fruits/berries and autumn colours – in fact everything you might expect from a mixed rural style hedge except for the thorns!

Mixed native hedges can be maintained at any height from 120cm up to several metres, and will respond well to a trim once a year (preferably in Winter) from the Autumn onwards. Native hedgerow mixes are suitable for all sites including exposed and windy sites and all soil types. Plus they enjoy being planted in either full sun and partial shade.

Full details of the species included in our Thornless Hedge Mix may be found at the bottom of the page (we don’t label the individual species), simply plant them in a randomized mixture for a natural look that will quickly become a haven for wildlife. The prices shown for our mixed native hedging is per plant and we sell them in multiples of 25.
