Pyracantha Red (Pyracantha coccinea ‘Red Column’) is the ideal shrub to plant for impenetrable security as it forms a very dense, prickly hedge. During the summer it produces clouds of bright white flowers, followed by eye-catching clusters of red berries in the autumn, which provide food to the birds during colder months.
Commonly known as Firethorn, Pyracantha Red (Pyracantha coccinea ‘Red Column’) is great for dense hedging or screening, and can also be trained against a wall, fence or trellis, due to its climbing nature.
A fast growing hedging plant, Pyracantha Red (Pyracantha coccinea ‘Red Column’) will typically grow 30cm to 60cm per year, and has an ultimate height and spread of 4 metres. It can take Pyracantha Red up to 20 years to reach its ultimate height and spread. When growing Pyracantha Red (Pyracantha coccinea ‘Red Column’) it will thrive in any reasonable soil in full sun or partial shade, and is tolerant of shady sites.
Our Pyracantha Red (Pyracantha coccinea ‘Red Column’) comes from our family run nursery in Kent, and is available in a range of sizes as pot grown plants. As pot grown plants they are available for planting all year round as there is no root disturbance. When planting Pyracantha Red (Pyracantha coccinea ‘Red Column’) as a hedge, we recommend planting 3 to 4 plants per metre, and trimming in mid-summer.

Delivery is convenient – no signature is required so you don’t need to wait in, we will leave your parcel in the safe place that you nominate.
Delivery is fast – because we pick orders daily from our own growing beds your plants only travel the small hop to our packing shed before being sent to you, they are usually delivered within 3-7 days.
Delivery is reliable – we have been selling and delivering Hedging Plants to our customers nationwide since 1992. We have a lot of experience in packing them safely and only use tried and tested delivery partners.

Exceptions to our delivery charges are Scottish Highland and Isle of Wight delivery areas where we need to charge a little extra to cover the cost of deliveries to these outlying areas. We don’t currently delivery to other offshore addresses including Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland.
Tall plants over 2.5 metres have to be delivered by our own specialised transport, our delivery area is limited to mainland England and Wales only.
Please note there is a minimum order value of £50 for orders containing smaller plants and £250 for orders containing heavier plants
