Pleached Evereste Crab Apples

Malus ‘Evereste’ is widely considered as one of the finest white flowered ornamental Crab Apples, the buds are bright pink or red at first before fading to light pink, finally opening to large sweetly scented pure white flowers produced in abundance as the new leaves unfurl. These will develop into large numbers of colourful crab apples later in the season that are perfect for culinary purposes such as crab apple jelly. The glossy green foliage of this deciduous tree turns to golden yellow by autumn giving extended interest.

Malus ‘Evereste’ pleached crab apple trees are naturally small and compact making them easy to maintain and a good pleached tree for smaller gardens, they will grow successfully in any soil that does not become waterlogged and are well suited to clay.

Because of the size of our pleached Evereste Crab Apple trees (they are too tall for any courier delivery service!) all our Pleached Trees are delivered by our own transport, direct to you straight from our nursery. We usually use our own Land Rover and trailer and will always call you to arrange a mutually convenient day first. Delivery is still free for these beautiful trees but as they require a more bespoke approach to delivery, and we do need a minimum order of £1500 (ex VAT) to cover our costs. (We can often deliver smaller orders with a contribution towards delivery, please do call our sales team on 01580 765600 or take a look at our delivery page)

Pleached Crab Apple trees are available for delivery to addresses in mainland England and Wales.

Pleached Evereste crab apple trees are best planted with rootgrow to give them the best start, its also a good idea to add plenty of good quality garden compost or well-rotted farmyard manure at planting time (well mixed with the surrounding soil).

Our potted specimens may be planted out successfully at any time of year privided the planting site is not frozen or waterlogged.

Further Information about Crabapple Evereste

Are Malus Evereste Crabapples edible?

Malus Evereste Crabapples are stunning garden trees with an abundance of white flowers and lovely fruits. The fruit is edible, however you may not want to eat it straight from the tree as it’s really tart! But Evereste Crabapples make delicious jams, jellies and chutneys, so they’re ideal for baking with. If this interests you, why not read up on our hedging species with edible fruits?

Will Crabapple Evereste pollinate an apple tree?

Yes, Crabapple Evereste will pollinate an apple tree – they’re great pollinators for many apple varieties, so they’re a great addition to any fruit garden. Crabapple Evereste trees produce pollen for a long period of time and are therefore often planted near to other apple trees for pollination.

Crabapple Evereste itself is self-pollinating, so it doesn’t need other pollinators to flower and produce fruit, but it will flower more abundantly if planted with other apple trees. Visit our Knowledge Base for more insights on planting and aftercare.
