Spiraea Vanhouttei Gold Fountain Shrubs

Spiraea vanhouttei Gold Fountain

This is a new and improved type of Spiraea vanhouttei with bright golden foliage held on arching, upright branches. During the Summer months pretty clusters of yellow centred, white flowers are dotted above the foliage giving a striking effect. The youngest growth has a colurful orange-red tinge and the young stems are almost coral red at first giving a nice contrast before the flowers appear.

Spiraea Gold fountain is a useful plant to provide a splash of colur in beds and borders, especially if contrasted with darker leaved plants. As this is a tough and easy shrub to grow, it has great potential as taller ground cover for more difficult situations where few plants will grow such as banks or dry areas – these shrubs can offer a colourful and low maintenance solution once established.
