Sambucus Black Beauty (Sambucus nigra f. porphyrophylla Gerda PBR)
Probably the darkest and most luxuriant foliage of any of the new ‘Elderberry’ varieties, Black Beauty has large burgundy-black leaves making a perfect contrast against the flat heads of pale pink lemon scented flowers that are revealed from deep red buds in early Summer, followed by purple-black fruits that are very popular with birds.
A magnificent large shrub for a sunny spot (for the best foliage colour, grows perfectly well in partial shade but the colouration is more green-bronze) 3m x 3m
