These rather different little trees have beautifully intricate mimosa like foliage composed of many leaflets, the foliage is evergreen giving interest all year. In late winter and early spring the fluffy pompom like flowers appear, eyecatching bright yellow on colour. Wonderfully exotic looking small trees growing to around 5 metres. Best in a sheltered sunny spot with well drained soil, Acacia is well suited to warmer parts of the UK although it could be grown in a large container in colder areas and moved to a more protected area for the winter, perhaps somewhere close to the house where its eyecatching flowers can be appreciated.
